Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, at Puy-deDomme, France on the 9th of August 1976. She is the oldest child in a family of four. The parents of Audrey Tautou, both a dental dentist and a teacher, recognized and encouraged their daughter's love for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. Their support is more than enough for Audrey to thwart her initial ambition to be a primatologist. It was a quick rise for her to become a famous young actor. Following her graduation, she participated in the French show for spotting talent Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors in the year 2000. She then began a career as an actress. Tautou is a pupil of the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and studied there at young age but has sworn off her Catholic upbringing. Now, she declares herself to be non-Catholic. Apart from her acting career she was also interested in modeling. The model was for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". Photographing is also a obsession and she was recently shown her work in the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on the spotlight and celebrities and then turns her camera to the journalists who scrutinised her after her meteoric rise in fame and fortune with Amelie in addition to several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first major role starring in the role of Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a worldwide box office film that received acclaim at awards galas around all over the world. It's the highest-grossing French film in America. The film's success has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
